In 2024, the PicPay product team identified that the transfer flow between "Account Balance" (Saldo em Conta) and "PicPay Invest Balance" (Saldo PicPay Invest) was still using visual components from a previous version of the design system. This created inconsistencies with the rest of the app, which had already been updated. In addition to the visual debt, the flow suffered from noticeable latency when exchanging data between steps—especially when loading available balances and confirming transfers—which negatively impacted perceived reliability in a sensitive journey involving financial transactions.

Challenges

• Screens with outdated components relative to the new design system, breaking the product's visual consistency.
• Response time between selecting the source balance and loading the data in the next step created friction and a sense of instability.
• A critical user journey (money transfer) required greater clarity and speed to reinforce user trust.

My Role

I was involved in the project from concept to final delivery, contributing to user journey mapping, information architecture, flow design, and prototyping.

Design Solution

Redesign the balance transfer flow screens using the new design system patterns, while working alongside the engineering team to optimize data processing between balances—reducing loading times between steps and creating a smoother experience from start to finish.
